First day of school

I love summer break with our summer calendar. But I must say I am not at all sad to see them go back to school. I really don't understand the crying some parents do. (They are back by 3pm.) Maybe when Chunky goes to school as well and I'm left by myself I'll understand. Until then....Woo,woo I love back to school.

A week full of joys and sorrows

Chunky turned 4 this week. We had a little einsteins party. The kids sat in their rocket, watched the little einsteins, had movie kids packs and sat off a rocket outside. I think they had fun and it was just long enough.
The back view.
Cupcakes are ALWAYS the better choice for 4 years.
Don't you just love pre school games. Thanks Alex and all chunky's friends for great gifts.
We went to the peanut place (aka roadhouse grill) for his Bday dinner.
Grandma and Grandpa sent him a shirt from their Mission.
We had to make the hard choice to put Elmo down this week. He was 13 years old, mostly blind, deaf, had tumors growing inside of him and his legs were giving out on him. The final thing was when he bit Robert on the hand for no reason other then he's getting old and confused. We were grateful it was Robert that got bit and not one of the kids. So we took him to our Vet and she said it was time. Brady cried for a full day until we got a stuffed beagle that he has now carried around for 4 days. We miss him.

Do you remember what it was like....

to be a kid during the summer? The kids play this game that they made up all the time. (I think if your over the age of 12 you wouldn't understand the rules.) It just makes me laugh to watch them. It also kind of brings a tear to my eye. I had great summers growing up on Ranch House with our pool.

Week in review

On Friday night Rob, Brady and I headed to the Angels game down south. Rob won the tickets in the 4th of July auction. It was a lot of fun. Brady and I got our picture put up on the big screen twice and they won the game. All in all it was a lot of fun. We stayed for the firework show afterwards which was awesome. About 30 of us went bowling on Thursday. We got our first zucchini from our garden. We made really good zucchini bread.

July 4th 2009

We finished the day by setting off fireworks and having homemade ice cream with the Andersons. Great 4th of July.

We always start the 4th of July off with the cub scout pancake breakfast/auction. It's a blast. Breakfast AND shopping? Is there anything better? Chunky decided to use the intimidation method this year. He found some Letters made into pillows. He LOVES anything to do with letters. He stood right behind the letters with at least one hand on them at ALL times. He stood there a good half hour and if anyone came over to write down a bid, he gave them stink eye. Well it must have worked cuz he won. I'm going to use the Chunky method next year. Robert came home with Angels/Yankees tickets and donated his services in hosting two pinewood derby birthday parties.
Brady and Nate with their auction wins. Britton bid and won homemade bread and golf balls?
Chunky won his letter pillows. Thank goodness!! It would have been a really long drive home if he hadn't.
Baby taggie blankets that Kellie and I made for the auction.

Our Week in review

Saturday night had dinner with some friends.
Britton, Riley and the Luthi girls had a swim meet this weekend. It was pretty hot, but it was really fun watching the kids.
Britton got 1st in his back heat and 5th over all (11 year old boys). We were all Amazed! We didn't know he had it in him. In practice he almost never swims a whole length without stopping (the whole force issue). We were really proud of him.
For Allen's Bday we went to dinner on Thursday night. On Friday Rob and I got to go to the temple together. Thanks to Emily for watching the kids.
The Youth went river rafting on Weds. night. It was fun. Natalie said that I wouldn't get wet. So Kellie and I didn't wear swimsuits. Bad Move. Natalie was not telling the WHOLE truth!!
When you don't wear bathing suits you become a target and everyone gets you wet!
I quess Chucky has a bit of my OCD.

Happy Father's Day to My Dad, Bob and My Hubbie

We love and miss you!
Our Ward made Banana splits for the fathers after church. Since none of you were there, the boys ate yours for you.

Baseball

This was Brady's last game of the season. He had alot of ups and downs this year. Being so small the pitches from the machine are always high. But he swings because he wants to hit the ball soooo bad. He struck out alot this year. We were proud of him for being a good sport and not dwelling on it. Next year will be better.
Brady's coach said he was one of his best catchers this year. This was the best thing he could have said to him because he LOVES that position.

We use to think slip and slides were fun...

But this slide rocks. I wish I were about 30 years younger. They didn't have cool things like this then. The Waite's bought this really cool slide and it was awesome. Everyone had a blast and it was still standing when we left. This made us all happy.
The trains were a hit!
I think Chunky stayed on the slide longer than anyone else that day. He loved it.
We told Britton if he got at least a 3.5 on his report card we would let him finally have a cell phone. While he came home with a 3.6 so here it is.( It will be lost in a month!)
